KOTSCHWAR, Winnifred “ Winnie” E., age 82, of Kettering, OH passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the Kettering Medical Center. She was born October 27, 1922, to Lawrence M. and Auretta I. Welborn, at the family farm in Red Willow County, Nebraska. She graduated from Lebanon High School and McCook Jr. College, in NE. Winnie obtained her teaching certificate and taught grades 3 and 4 from 1942-1946. She married Paul L. Kotschwar on December 1, 1946. After residing in Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah, they moved to Ohio in 1956. Winnie was a longtime member of the Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church and active in its programs, including volunteering at the Dayton Mental Health Center for over 30 years, teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, supporting various youth programs, and participating in Presbyterian Women’s Association circles. Winnie was also a Girl Scout leader. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, in 1996; parents; sisters, Virena “Rene” Creasman, Arlene Elmer, Lucile Gragg, and Joyce Welborn; brothers, Russell , James “Gib”, and Carl Welborn; and son-in-law, Chuck Maue. Winnie is survived by her children, James (Toni) Kotschwar of Oak Harbor, WA, Jeanine Kotschwar of Grand Forks, ND, Jo-Ellen (Rick) Fannin of Spring Valley, OH, and Paula Maue of Bellbrook, OH; grandchildren, Brooke Kotschwar (Joe) Stout of Seattle, WA, Brett Kotschwar of San Diego, CA, Mary Wynne Kotschwar of Seattle, WA, Jordan and Jesse Lindholm of Grand Forks, ND, Ben (Caroline) of Los Angeles, CA, Lea Fannin of Spring Valley, Laura and Emily Maue of Bellbrook ; sisters, Leah Warner of Tampa, FL, Auretta Parker of Littleton, CO; brother, Rex Welborn of Faribault, MN; numerous loving relatives and friends. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 from 5-8:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Sept 1, 2005 at 11:00AM at the Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church. Private family burial at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek, OH. In memory of Winnie, contributions may be made to the Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 4417 Bigger Rd., Kettering, OH 45440.
