Winthrop D. Lane

age 89, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2004 after a long illness. He was born September 19, 1914 in Dayton, Ohio. A resident of the city of Oakwood for 57 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sherman Lane and Edith Mary Daniels. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Clulee Lane. A graduate of Steele High School 1932 and Miami University at Oxford 1936. A member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Member of the Dayton Club, The Kettering Rotary and a volunteer at Miami Valley Hospital for 16 years. He had an out standing service as a Certified Public Accountant. He began his career with his father’s firm, Wall Hardmen and Lane and retired from Deloitte, Haskins and Sells (Deloitte & Touche). He is survived by his son, Arthur Sherman and his wife, Christine; daughter, Stephanie E. Potter and her husband, Ray; grandson, Gregory and his wife, Ericha; and 4 great grandchildren, Benjamin, Robert, Ryan and Douglas and his wife, Wendy; great granddaughter, Allison; daughter, Judith (Judy) Ann Perry and her husband, Philip; granddaughter, Beth Zink and her husband, Allen; 2 great grandchildren, Griffith and Arden; daughter, Elizabeth (Betsy) Joan Lawson and her husband, Robert; grandson, Brad and his wife, Nicole; great granddaughter, Lilly, granddaughter, Ann Prittie and her husband, Chad; and great granddaughter, Elizabeth. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 11-12:00 noon at the Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave., at Irving. Funeral services and burial will be private.
